Huntington Beach draws the eye across Lake Erie to the downtown Cleveland skyline. I had so much fun painting the leaves in this work – it felt like I was building lace.

The iconic tree in the distance was beloved by many who frequent that beach and served as the backdrop for numerous weddings. It was struck by lightning a couple of years ago, dramatically changing the view to downtown.

For me, this painting is a reminder that life can change in an instant.
