My eldest grandchild, Ellie, took this picture when her plane was landing in Tampa, Florida, hence the moniker, Ellie’s Sky. I used it as a study for the sky in The Path Less Traveled. It’s not a very large piece, but I found it quite challenging to capture the three dimensionality of the clouds…though vapor, they seem quite sculptural.

And I love the monochromatic tonality.
